I always seem to stumble across lovely things that I just adore...
usually by browsing Etsy. :)
So today I'm linking up with Krystina for What I Love Wednesday!
Won't you join us?

So, what am I loving this week?
Let me show you...

this necklace. I am really, really good at complaining {just being honest here!}. I love this adorable reminder to be happy. I have a good life. :)

love the colors & the sweet birdies on this hoodie!

this "Soon to be Mrs..." bracelet makes me excited.
I'll have a new last name in October!

I don't need a new coffee mug. At all.
But I love this sweet silhouetted mug just the same.

and finally...

this shirt. My fiance' would look fantastic in it. And he is my Mr. Darcy.
{I'm just trying to figure out if he would actually wear it if I bought it for him...}

There you go!
Hope you enjoyed a peek into what I'm loving.
What are you loving on this fine Wednesday?

monday stuff

{1} Monday. Does anyone else have a hard time
getting started on Monday mornings?
Coffee required.

{2} I really should learn to type with one hand.
Then I could hold onto my coffee cup AND type. :)

{3} If you want to know a little more about my personality
and how my brain works, read this. I'm an ISTJ.
{it's crazy, how well it describes me!}

{4} In other news, there are new blooms in the shop!
I think the lemon drop bloom is my favorite right now.
So bright and pretty!

{5} The wedding planning is going quite well, I think.
The things that needed to be done are done.
I'm planning the rest in my head for now. :)

{6} We're getting married in less than 27 weeks!

{7} Pretty please, leave some love for the sweet ladies
who are offering giveaways here this week?

{8} Random posts like this are kind of fun!
Except I have to get to #10, or it bothers me.
{I know, I'm weird.}

{9} I was planning on going for a walk
with my sister this morning.
It just started raining.
Sad.

{10} Things to do, things to do!
I'll end here at #10, so the day can get started.
Have a wonderful, fabulous Monday!

infinity...

...an infinity scarf, that is!

I first saw this on Aunt Spicy's blog, and hopped over to We Shall Sew for the tutorial. This was a really easy project {thanks, Melissa!}, and it probably took me about an hour {with distractions} to finish.

I paired it with the Target dress from this post, and I love it!
I've already made plans to make another. :)

What have you made recently?

Emerging Em

 If you chose 3 words to describe yourself, what would they be?
loving, silly, dependable

As you work on lovelies for your shop, how do you find inspiration?
My mom asked me when I first started my blog and opened my Etsy shop why I chose the name Emerging Em. I think the name aptly describes the phase of life I'm in right now, as I am not only emerging as a new blogger and crafter, violinist and teacher, but also as a person. I hope the name continues to describe me, as I am always striving to learn and create new things. I'm inspired by fashion and the people around me as well as architecture and nature. I'm also inspired by what I can do - like knitting, tatting, and sewing - and combining those skills in new and creative ways.

What is your favorite item in your shop right now?

Isn't her shop lovely? I adore those sweet rosettes.

{giveaway!}

Em is giving away a set of those adorable rosette hairpins,

{shop update} some new lovelies!

Hello, friends!
I hope you all had a simply lovely weekend. :)
I spent most of the day Saturday working on a shop update,
and I wanted to share some of the new lovelies with you...

There are new products {some of which you've already seen},
new options for some products, and a new size for the zipped pouches!
Ready? Here's a peek at what I've been busy with:

There are a few new ruffled pouches in this size,
and I have fabric for even more!
Just have to find the time to sew them up...

These smaller-sized pouches are now available!
They measures about 5x5, perfect for keeping track of
little things in your purse.

The 5 newest blooms
come with a new option:
when ordering, you can now choose a bar pin or a hair clip!
I've made these into hair clips for a few people now,
so if you'd rather pretty up your ponytail,
that option is now available!
{any new blooms made will have this option.}

I've been working on these sweet little clips for quite awhile now,
and I'm so excited that they are now available in the shop!
8 colors to choose from, these miniature versions of the blooms
are perfect to clip in your hair. :)
Hopefully even more color choices will be added in the future!
{P.S. If you would like a custom quantity, they're $5 apiece. Just send me a message on Etsy & I'll set up a custom listing for you!}

*****

There you have it!
I'll be busy with even more sewing this week
{I'm trying to be more consistent, adding more pretties},
and I'd love to send you something!
Did anything catch your eye?

Have a wonderful Monday!

{project: simplify} hot spot #2

This week's hot spot in the Project: Simplify challenge was...

I'm really bad about keeping papers.
I wonder if I might ever need it.
If I throw this out, will I end up wishing I hadn't?

So, I tackled my desk, the main area of my paper clutter:

Every piece of paper that had no purpose went in the trash.
Receipts and such that I need are stashed in a drawer instead of in the little cubes {hidden, not so much clutter!}.
And now my desk is organized with what I need, easily accessible.

hot spot #2 - done!

{shop feature} Calleigh's Clips & Crochet Creations

I've got an adorable shop feature for you today!
I love to crochet myself, and I do enjoy seeing other's work.
These cuties would be perfect for any of the littles in your life!

to tell us a little about herself and her shop:

 If you could only choose 3 words to describe yourself, what would they be?
musical, reserved, faithful

As you work on lovelies for your shop, how do you find inspiration?
My inspiration for my creations began when I found out I was having a baby girl. I wanted her to be a girly girl and I began making bows and picked up my crochet hook and haven't stopped since. Sad part is that she hates hats, bows and anything in or on her hair. :P Occasionally If I bribe her with a snack she'll give me a big cheesy grin and pose.

What is your favorite item in your shop right now?
I'm so excited for spring and summer all the fun pastels and bright colors. It's hard for me to pick my favorite but I'm in love with our summer sunhats, but if my customers picked a favorite it would be our owl hats.

{isn't it adorable?!}

Don't those babies make you melt? ;)

Keep up with Elisabeth's shop:

{diy} will you be my bridesmaid?

I saw this idea first on the lovely Caroline's blog,
and I knew I wanted to do something special for my bridesmaids.
It was the perfect idea, and they all loved it!

First, I needed a chalkboard.
I bought a wooden plaque at JoAnn's,
some chalkboard paint, and some fun pink paint for the border.

I painted the edges of the plaque first, with the 2 shades of pink I'd chosen, then carefully painted the middle with the chalkboard paint. I ended up doing 3 coats of the chalkboard paint, and the worst part was waiting for it to cure for 24 hours!

{I hated taking these pictures. I felt SO awkward. Seriously.}

I wrote "Will you be my bridesmaid?", and snapped some photos with my sister. Sent them to Target to be printed, and then worked on the frames.

I just got some $1 frames at Michael's and painted them to match.
I loved painting them! It was so fun to do the pink edges & scallops. :)

I found the perfect complementing ribbon, made some adorable little cards {which you'll see on the blog sometime in the future}, and mailed them off!

This was a great {and easy!} project, and you could use it in other ways, too. I plan on using that chalkboard again, for sure! Many thanks to Caroline for sharing the inspiration!

{lovely finds} for the birds

Lately I've been finding myself drawn to birds...
they're so sweet and pretty!

Here's a few of my favorite birdie finds:

this sweet little bird neclace
these lovely birdcage seals
this card is just too adorable!

and I'd love to sip my coffee from this pretty mug.

What do you love today?

{rainy day} & 7 things

{1} I woke up to rain this morning. Not my favorite kind of weather,
but I guess I'll live.

{2} I love {these brackets}. I use them all the time, probably too much. I've even gotten pretty good at writing them myself.

{3} I signed up for a hoop art swap recently.
I've never really done hoop art. I hope that whatever I make turns out well...

{4} My latest hobby {or obsession, depending on your point of view} is embroidery! I kind of picked it up because of the hoop art swap, but also because I need something new. Sewing, but just for fun. I'm mostly just learning as I go, figuring out what works and what doesn't. Not sure if I'm doing it right, but it turns out pretty well. ;) I hope to share some of my projects soon.

{5} I have about 4 different things {DIY, projects, etc.} that I want to blog about...I need a less busy life so that I have more time!

{6} I made a checklist yesterday of the things I need to get done, and I finished {almost} everything! I love productivity. :)

{7} Yes, 7 is a random number, but I have things to get done. What are you up to today?

{project: simplify} update - my closet

On Monday afternoon, I tackled the monstrosity my closet had become.
Seriously, it was bad.

I've realized that I have formed the habit of "Well, I don't want to get rid of this, because I've never worn it, and I just might want to someday!"
But, my new goal is to simplify, so I worked hard to keep only the clothes I really like, that actually fit me, that I will actually wear.

Are you ready for the before & after?
{please don't judge for how bad the closet was before...}

I love how much cleaner it is! My closet has a floor after all! I can see all of my tops, skirts & dresses! {do you see my wedding dress peeking out?}

Of course, now I need to finish cleaning up the rest of my bedroom...but that will have to wait for another day. :)
