{celebrating 20}

This past Friday, the sweetheart, my family and a handful of
dear friends got together to celebrate 20 years.
It was one of the nicest birthdays I've had, I think.

No, 20 is not really that old {I know}, but saying that I'm 20 instead
of 19 makes me feel more "official", sort of.

I had a lovely time. :)

A couple of friends who live farther away came for dinner, and everyone else came over for some very yummy red velvet cupcakes. We went to see The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
It was very laid back, simple, but still fun.

I made a couple of pennant banners and a cake topper that I'll {hopefully} be sharing soon.
My sister made the cupcakes, and we used this delicious frosting.

Since my birthday is on Christmas Day, it was nice to take a separate day to celebrate.
Even with company coming over, I don't think I lifted a finger {many thanks to my sisters for all the work they did!}. Not having to clean up is a gift in and of itself!

How do you celebrate birthdays?
Do you have a favorite birthday memory?

Yay - Happy Birthday! My birthday is on Christmas Eve, so I know how you feel! (I'm having a giveaway for my birthday by the way!) I always had to have birthday parties at different times, too. We mostly just celebrate on my birthday now - we have dinner and cake before the candlelight service at church. :)

I had a really hard time with 20... Even though 18 makes you an adult, saying that you're a 20-something officially means you aren't a fun teenager anymore. I may have had a couple of breakdowns (it didn't help that I was packing up my dorm after my sophomore year at the time either). Don't worry, 20s are ending up being wonderful - not so scary afterall! (And being 20-something is way more fun than being a teenager!). :)

Happy 20th birthday! Sounds like it was lovely. The only thing that could've made it lovelier is if that Martha cake was actually your cake... love it!

How was the Voyage of the Dawn Treader? I've been wanting to see it! Happy birthday... I remember my 20th birthday. I was pretty excited about it because 19 was a tough year and I was glad to leave it behind. So far my 20's have been pretty sweet. I'm a new follower but I love reading. Enjoy your bday... and merry Christmas!
