{the holidays}

For as long as I can remember, Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year.
The music, the lights, decorating the tree, putting out the nativity, buying/making & wrapping up gifts, etc, etc.

My sisters and I would always tumble out of bed as early as possible.
Retrieve our stockings and wait {rather impatiently} until we could wake up our parents.
But before we open any gifts, we stop.
We read about the true reason for the wonderful Christmas season.
We give thanks for the many blessings we've been given.
And it's always made for a wonderful Christmas morning.

*****

We will be leaving bright and early tomorrow morning to spend Christmas with my grandparents.
There will be a special post going up on Christmas Eve, and then it'll be
pretty quiet around here until I get back.

I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful holiday!

I love that your family reads the "reason for the season" That is great and it is SO easy to get caught up in the craziness and forget what it truly is all about. Merry Christmas!

thanks girl for linking up! loved reading your tradition. I definitely want to read scripture with Noah Christmas morning. I want him growing up knowing the true reason we celebrate.
hope you have a fabulous Christmas and hope you get all the things you've hoped for. :)
