{little things}

I'm not a photographer by any means,
but I love captured memories.
Pictures to look back on & think "Oh, remember when...?"

So, here are some of the little things I captured this week...
{start at top left corner & go clockwise}

--> music practice. lovely shot of the keyboard.
lots of fond memories there.

--> that was actually my last music practice for awhile
{because of getting married & moving & such},
and the rest of the team threw me a little party,
complete with cupcakes!

--> pumpkin spice latte. YUM.

--> I Love Lucy. I really do. :)

--> my view. so pretty.

--> my handsome fiance.
putting together ceiling fans for our new home. :)

--> happy together!

--> playing rummy with my family

--> heading out for a walk, even though it's hot.

--> reading the bible. sipping coffee. a great bible study to work on.

--> one of my embroidery projects, inspired by a Fred Astaire movie.

--> he makes my heart smile. :)

...and another little peek at our new place:

It's starting to feel more like home. :)

Happy weekending, lovelies!

things to make & do

Good morning, lovelies!

As always, I have about a million and one projects I'd love to be working on...
but I'm making myself wait until after the wedding.
It's only 10 days away, and I don't really have time to start something new.

Until then, my Pinterest boards keep growing...

cute & simple bow tie top

I want to make this with a different phrase...
now I just have to think of a good one!

these fabric trays are just begging to be made

I have the perfect scraps to use for these gift tags!

I just love the versatility of these clip frames

What projects have you been working on?

{mondays require coffee}

I found this print while browsing Etsy recently,
and I just love it!

Mondays {and every morning!} always require coffee
to wake me up & get me going. It's part of my morning routine. :)

How about you? What is an essential start to your day?

{instagram.}

There are a lot of things I love about my iPhone.
One of the apps I was most excited to try out was Instagram.
I am not an amazing photographer, but it's been so fun to snap a quick photo,
choose a filter, and done!
And I find myself taking pictures of little moments throughout the day,
which I wouldn't necessarily do with my regular camera.

So, I thought I'd share some pieces of my life today...

{left} Lovelies I've made for the craft fair. I just hope it will sell!
{right} My life is slowly being packed away in boxes & moved to our new house.
There are about 5 boxes of books in the middle of my room right now. ;)

I thrive on lists.
There's something about writing down goals
and then checking them off when I complete them...
{this was a cleaning list; my sister & I spent most of the day Wednesday
at my new place cleaning/organizing/putting away}

coffee + a good book = happiness :)

A couple of cute wedding projects.
I can't wait to see how it all comes together!

This has been my view every Thursday night for several years.
{I play on our church's music team}

Just a glimpse at my life through photos.
Thanks for joining me! :)

{recipe} cheesy chicken lasagna

I really do enjoy cooking.
I seldom get to try new recipes {my dad can't have any kind of dairy,
which really limits the options}, but I was able to make a recipe last week
that I found while browsing Pinterest.
I thought I'd share; maybe you'll want to try something new!

cheesy chicken lasagna
{the recipe can be found here; I'd encourage you to
read her thoughts on it before you start cooking.}

2 cans (12 oz) evaporated milk (not fat-free)
1 (1 oz) pkg. dry Ranch dressing mix
3 C. cubed, cooked, chicken
1/8 tsp pepper
1 (16oz) lasagna noodles, cooked (she recommends reducing it to 8 oz to 12 oz)
1 1/2 to  2 C cheddar cheese, grated
1 1/2 to  2 C mozzarella cheese, grated

Cook the chicken and noodles first at the same time. Once noodles are done–rinse in cold water and set aside (it keeps them from sticking together). Combine evaporated milk (don’t use fat-free version) and Ranch dressing in a 3 quart heavy saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring frequently until dry ingredients are dissolved. Stir in chicken and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, 25 minutes (don’t do any less), stirring frequently. {keep the heat low - I got impatient & turned it up and the mixture separated} Layer half of lasagna noodles, poultry sauce, and cheese in well-buttered 9×13 pan. Repeat layers again. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Yum! ;)

Happy cooking!

Hello, lovelies!

Just so you know, my little shop will be
going into vacation mode on October 1st.

I'll be busy with last minute wedding preparations,

make sure you order before October 1st!
And if you'd like a little extra incentive, use the code

{handmade love} vintage green limited

I just love this shop, vintage green limited.
I'm not sure how I found it {probably through another blog},
but I fell in love with the sweet birdies Jenn makes...

Have I mentioned that I really love birds? :)

She also make adorable ring bearer pillows, bunting,
and wedding sets.

And, these adorable birds will be making an appearance at my own wedding!

These were a custom order with my own fabric,
and Jenn was fabulous to work with!
I would definitely recommend her work. :)

I'm sharing a shop that I really love,
for no reason other than the fact that I like it!
Jenn doesn't know I'm featuring her, I'm not being paid,
my own opinions, etc, etc.

I've seen washi tape popping up all over the place lately!
I'm probably the last to know {that's usually me when it comes to trends...},
but I think there are so many cute patterns & designs
And it's so versatile!

So, I just wanted to share some fun projects
I've found that you can do with washi tape.
Like...

one month!

One month. Can you believe it?!

Back in January, when we got engaged,
October seemed ages away.
The closer we get, the faster it comes.
And I couldn't be more excited! ;)

So what have I been up to lately?
Obviously, lots of projects for the wedding...
{from top left to bottom right}

{1} I have at least 4 lists going right now.
Things are getting done, and my lists keep shrinking!
{2 & 3} I'm making my own veil, and the DIY Bride magazine
has an easy set of instructions to follow.
(I ordered the netting on Etsy.)
{4} This is one of my favorite projects,
these sweet little birdhouses. :)
{5 & 6} I looove this fabric.
When you see pictures of our wedding,
that fabric will be in lots of places. :)
Including 24+ yards of pennant bunting!

So, there's a little sneak peek at a few of the details.
I can't wait to see it all put together!

P.S. We also found a place to live!
Papers are signed, and we get the keys on Monday!!
I'll be sharing more about our new home soon...
